A 21-year-old man was arrested with weapons and ammunition following his suspicious actions and online posts pledging allegiance to ISIS.
The Justice Department announced this week that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents arrested a Pennsylvania man who was allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired mass shooting. The 21-year-old from Butler County was arrested by FBI agents after he was found in a hotel room with a semiautomatic rifle, five rifle magazines, a total of 190 rounds of rifle ammunition, pepper spray, and approximately 30 knives. The young man had been surveilled for acting suspiciously and had claimed affiliation with ISIS online.
“This FBI continues to move more effectively than we ever have stopping terrorists before they harm the American people,“ FBI Director Kash Patel stated. “Once again, results like these are exactly why we made changes to the FBI and the way it runs – to save lives before would-be criminals can act.”
The arrest comes less than a month after a woman from Albany, New York, was charged for attempting to “provide material support to a designated terrorist organization, ISIS.“ She was allegedly plotting to deploy an explosive at the New York State Capitol with the intent “to kill public officials and to destroy ‘as much of the building as possible’ before fleeing to ISIS‑controlled territory in Syria.“
